Nexus ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of schools and their staff who use our fee management platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Nexus, we collect the following types of information:

Account information — name, email address, and role when you create an account.
School information — school name and configuration details you enter during setup.
Student records — student names, class assignments, and fee information that your school staff enters.
Payment records — fee amounts, payment dates, and receipt data recorded by your staff.
Usage data — pages visited and actions taken within the app, collected to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the Nexus platform.
Generate fee receipts and reports for your school.
Send product updates and service-related notifications (you can opt out at any time).
Improve the platform based on usage patterns.
Respond to support requests and inquiries.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use student data for advertising.

3. Data Isolation & Security

Each school's data is logically isolated using row-level security (RLS) at the database level. No school can access another school's records. Access to your data is restricted to staff members you have added to your account.

We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, you may request deletion of your school's data by contacting us. Student and payment records are kept for a minimum of 12 months for record-keeping purposes unless you request earlier deletion.

5. Third-Party Services

Nexus uses the following third-party services:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and in accordance with applicable law.

6. Cookies

Nexus uses cookies solely to maintain your authentication session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The session cookie is essential for the application to function; it is deleted when you sign out.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
Export your school's data in CSV format (available in Pro and School plans).

8. Children's Data

Nexus is a tool for school administrators and staff. Student data (names, class, fee records) is entered by authorised school staff. We do not directly collect information from students or their parents. Schools are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate consent to enter student information into the platform.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify account holders of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
